  1. Q3 'Awards For A Cause' - Susan G. Komen 3 Day Walk

Would You Walk 60 Miles in 3 Days?

3-Day Walk The Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk is our 3rd Quarter 'Awards for a Cause'.

We believe in the Power of Recognition.  And through our Awards for a Cause program we are able to recognize organizations that help our communities.  Each quarter Trophies2Go selects an organization to benefit from this program.  Sometimes this organization is local.  We love the community we live in, just like you do.  But we also know that there are many national and international organizations that contribute to our human community.  So we like to recognize them too.

A portion of the sales of specific trophies and awards is donated to the Awards for a Cause recipient.  It’s that easy.  But we also like to get involved as much as we can.  Sometimes that includes sharing a link to their website or Facebook page.  Sometimes it includes our staff or families working directly with the organization sorting clothes, collecting food or giving a ride to the doctor for seniors.  We feel blessed for the life and work we have and want to help others.

For the 3rd quarter of 2012, Trophies2Go has selected the Susan G. Komen 3-Day.  This is one of those organizations whose work touches us all.  This event is a 3-day, 60-mile walk for women and men who want to make a personal difference in the fight against breast cancer. The event closest to us is scheduled for Sept 14-16 in Seattle.  If you’d like more information, or to find the 3-Day event closest to you, please go to www.the3day.org  or find them on facebook at www.facebook.com/the3day.

If you’ve participated as a walker or a volunteer for the 3-Day in the past, tell us about your experience.  And if you are planning to participate this year we want to know that too.  You can comment here or you can post on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/trophies2go.

Thank you for helping us recognize great organizations that support our communities!

    Cheers, Jessica

On July 14th, 2012, the Rotary Club of Issaquah is hosting the 15th annual Challenge Day Race.  Developmentally disabled youngsters pair up with able-bodied kids to roll down the streets of Issaquah, WA in their very own soap box derby cars!  This inspirational event is full of cheers and smiles, and our President, Jeff Anderson, is happy to be helping with this event.

Adaptive cycling will also be at the event, allowing people with physical challenges the opportunity to try a bike.

Please join us on Saturday at 2nd Avenue to cheer on the drivers and riders!  And of course youngsters get Issaquah Rotary Trophies!  For more information, visit the Issaquah Rotary.

    Cheers,
    Jessica

  3. Swim Team Trophies

These swimmers are ready to go! Picture by Dana W.

It’s that time of year – sunny weather, swim caps, speedos, goggles and sunscreen! A buzzer sounds and SPLASH! the kids are off their blocks and racing through the clear, blue water, the sound of arms slapping and legs kicking.  What is all of this commotion and fun? SWIM TEAM!

If this is your reality, then your family is BUSY.  Our family belongs to Edgebrook Swim Club in Bellevue, but unfortunately, our girls don’t do swim team.  Bummer.  All my friends growing up were swimmers, and they always had a neat connection with one another...their families grew up together, they were a part of team, and they were all in shape!  Now as an adult who has finished a couple of sprint triathlons, I have a respect and admiration for swimmers and their coaches that I lacked as a kid.  Not to mention divers and water polo players - how do they tread water for that long?  I’m in awe!

I give kudos to swimmers for all of that hard work and dedication.  We love the fact that most swim teams are a no-cut sport – everyone who wants to swim, can.

We have tons of swim team trophies, medals and plaques that would make your kiddo feel like an Olympic champ, no matter what level swimmer they are.  Check out our swim trophies; we have tons to choose from.  My favorites are the new Motion Xtreme Swimming Trophies, the Burst Thru Trophies, and Swimming Dog Tags.  We also have 2 swim trophies we're featuring for our 'Awards for a Cause', where a portion of the sales is donated to charity.  They are Gold  Swimming Medallions and  Swimming Star Solid Resin Awards.   You’re sure to find something your swimmer and coach will love!

Great job keeping in shape, cheering on the team, and having fun!  Here’s to summer!

    Cheers,
    Jessica

  4. STAR 101.5 Weiner Dog Races

Weiner Dog Races Here's our booth at the Star 101.5 Weiner Dog Races!

This year we are again sponsoring the STAR 101.5 Weiner Dog Races at Emerald Downs on July 21, 2012.  This fantastic event has something for everyone!  We have been making the trophies for this event for the past 10 years, and it always entertains.

Here is my top 10 list of why this is one of the best events we do:

    10. There are horses, and they are strong & beautiful.
    9. It’s outside, and usually sunny.  If it’s not, there’s cover.
    8. You can bet and win money.
    7. The trophies for the winners have a flying weiner dog on top.
    6. You can meet Kent & Allen in person.
    5. There’s lots of good food, including ice cream and fries. Yum
    4. Everyone is really happy to be there.
    3. Margene made doggie sized medals for the winning weiners.  Super cute.
    2. Love the bugle guy.  He’s the best.
    1.  The best reason:  The weiner dogs are hilarious!  They run all over the track, sniff each other, and are extremely funny.

Here’s the link to find out more. Come and see us - we’ll be the ones carrying the trophies!

    Cheers,
    Jessica
