This manufacturer has an innovative approach to creating one of a kind, unique awards. Here’s what our staff has to say:

“I would like to nominate Zeit Company for the Custom Cut Acrylics as my favorite vendor. They are always so nice to work with, and I love their creativity.” – Mika

“This vendor is always prompt and creative.” – Margene

“It’s really great to have a vendor with the flexibility to create an award from thin air and see it through from inception to completion.” –Jeff

“I love their designs and so do our customers!” – Jessica

Zeit is an awards manufacturer based near Salt Lake City, UT. They create the “LogoCut” process, where they design and manufacture customized full color, American made, acrylic awards.

These innovative awards take a logo and create a 3-dimensional award, customized to our customers' needs and budgets. Through their “reinvention” of awards, the finished product is unique every time. But all Zeit awards have this in common - they are original, bright, and stylish with a “wow” factor unmatched by other acrylic awards.

Corporate customers who have ordered awards using this process include Microsoft, Nintendo, Ford and T-Mobile. We have also created LogoCut awards for non-profits and community organizations including the Cody Project, Hawaiian Pulse Awards, and Blakely Communities, to name a few.

Not only are their awards exceptional, but Zeit also has great staff. They are friendly, efficient and prompt - they make us look good! Thank you to President Jon, National Sales Manager Mick, Sales Rep Kyle, Anna who creates awesome artwork, and the rest of the creative team at Zeit for providing a superior product to our customers!

  2. My All-Time Favorite Trophies

I recently went out to dinner with my mom's group and we were discussing my blog.  My good friend Khanh reads it often and she complimented me on my posts (thanks Khanh!).  The topic of "my favorite trophies of all time" came up during the discussion, and we all had a good laugh over #7 (see below).  Khanh suggested I write a post about it.

This conversation got me thinking about all the wonderful awards we create for many, many people.  Some trophies are really funny, some are touching, some are inspiring, some are sad.  But what is great about the work we do is that behind every award we make, is a story.  I'd like to share a few of my favorites with you.

    My All-Time Favorite Trophies

Pulse Awards Custom Acrylic awards for the Pulse Awards in Hawaii.

    1.  Coolest Trophy - We recently made custom "Logocut" awards for the Honolulu Pulse Awards.  They recognized the best of Hawaii's scene and were the hippest awards around!

This doggie-sized medal is awarded to the fastest hot dog at the Star 101.5 Wiener Dog races. This doggie-sized medal is awarded to the fastest hot dog at the Star 101.5 Wiener Dog races.

    2.  Cutest Trophy - That's a tie; I have two favorites.  My first pick is  the "Flying Wiener" at the Kent and Allen Star 101.5 Wiener dog races. The epic super-sized post trophy and little doggie sized medals go to the fastest dachshund at the race.

My second pick is our own Honey Badger Trophy.  Exclusive to Trophies2Go, you won't find this nasty critter anywhere else!

This beautiful plaque was a treasured gift to wife Annie! This beautiful plaque was a treasured gift to wife Annie!

    3.  Most Touching - A longtime customer Dag created a beautiful plaque for his loving wife Annie celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and Annie's 90th birthday.  It brought tears to my eyes when I read it.  What a touching gift!

CJs_mom 2 This lasting tribute to a special mom, Cynthia Stanford. We were honored to create a small plate in her memory.

    4.  Saddest Trophy - We create many memorial plates and engraved urns for people who have passed away.  It's always heartbreaking to serve customers in grief, but I'm glad that we can help in a small way to remember those who are no longer with us.  For example, these brothers CJ and Beau created a beautiful tribute to their mother, Cynthia Stanford, in a special place she frequented.  Having lost both of my parents, I understand the emotion around this, and it's an honor to do this kind of work.

    5.  Best Name - Customer Dale created "King O The Kitchen" (aka KOK) for his annual cooking contest - read about it here.  I loved the name so much I renamed the our resin chef after his event!

Our achievement trophy in People Magazine! Our achievement trophy in People Magazine!

    6.  Most Famous Trophy - Last February our Male Achievement Trophy was featured in "Oscar Party Picks" in People Magazine!  What a thrill!

    7.  My All-Time Favorite Trophy:  Sorry I don't have a picture, as this is from many years ago, I think even before we had our girls.  There was an Oscar Male Achievement Trophy that came through our production with engraving "Best Boss in Bed - 2nd Place".  Think about it.

Our customers are so creative and it's a real pleasure to help with a small part of the story of awards.  We are here for the life's biggest achievements and milestones and it's an honor!

If you have a story about the award you've received from us, I'd love to hear it and share it with our community.  Feel free to post it on our Facebook Page, Twitter, or Instagram.  Use  #Trophies2Go on your post.  Or email it to me directly at [email protected].  Send me pictures of your awards too - a picture is worth 1000 words - and your trophy could be in my next favorites list!

    Cheers,
    Jessica

  4. A Moms Opinion Of Participation Trophies

Once again, participation trophies have come under fire in the media. This time it’s Glenn Beck. He makes the argument "...Those who disagree with the practice often point to participation trophies as the 'wussification' of America." Here’s the link to his article.

For disclosure sake, I DO own a trophy company. And our company DOES make money from selling participation trophies. So from that perspective, I’m definitely a fan.

Soccer Pal Who knew this little guy could cause so much controversy?

But my first and most important job is as a MOM of two girls – one kid in elementary school, and one just entering high school. I am at the sweet spot of this argument - an intelligent, engaged parent who makes the decision about giving (or not giving) my kids participation trophies.

If you can take the “owner of a trophy shop” piece out of it, here is how I feel about the issue.

    One Mom's Opinion

Just like Glenn Beck, I don’t want my children to grow up to be entitled lazy brats. As adults, I would like them to be happy, well-adjusted members of society, living on their own and supporting themselves. I don’t want them to feel like they are “owed” anything. I want them to possess a strong work ethic, earning what they want without feeling entitled to anything.

AND at the same time, I think participation trophies are a good thing for my kids. And here's why: I don’t see a participation trophy as something they are entitled to OR something that they have to earn. I see it as a memento of a season, like a scrapbook or a trading coin. A prize they receive for getting off their butts, being healthy, and putting themselves out there.

I see participation trophies similar to souvenirs from a trip. It’s a small thing you keep to remind you of the fun you had and the memories you made. A memento. And if it's given with thought and care, it can become a treasured reminder of childhood.

A small participation trophy, metal or dog tag doesn’t make my kids feel entitled or lazy any more than a party favor from a birthday they attend or a prize from a school event.

That being said, I would agree that large, championship trophies have no place as participation trophies. Tall, multi-post trophies or crystal sports awards are meant for winners that earn them. If you work hard as a team to be the best, you deserve the hardware to prove it.

    The Age Component

I also feel that participation trophies are better for younger children vs. older kids and teens. Young kids who are just starting out their sports or activity careers may be motivated to play with the lure of a trophy at the end of the season. Little kids think they are really cool, more like a toy. In my experience, the trophies will be played with (and sometimes broken) and that’s ok.

Once a kid get into middle school, I don’t feel there's as much of a need for those items any more. By this time, kids will have tried a number of different sports and activities and have figured out what they enjoy and have a natural talent for.

At this older age, a better way to acknowledge participation is with clothing, such as a jersey or sweatshirt, a useful piece of equipment, such as a water bottle or duffle bag, or a picture of the team. At this point in the kids’ career, a pep item for team pride makes more sense than a participation trophy.

I think what makes me the most mad about this debate is when people who don’t like participation trophies say that people who do are codling and harming their kids and our country as a whole. We all want what’s best for our kids and our country, and I believe there can be more than one “right” answer.

There would be no team at all if none of the children had “participated”. If the lure of a participation trophy is the carrot to get kids, especially little kids, involved, then I think they are a good thing. It's all about the meaning you put into the awards - how they are presented, what the coach says about the kids and the season. For tips on how to make sports trophies meaningful, read my past post on the subject here.

If you feel different, I would love to hear your thoughts. And for the record, Glenn Beck, as a mother of two AND the owner of a trophy company, I respectfully disagree with your stand. But I appreciate you putting it out there for us to continue to debate.

    Cheers,
    Jessica

  5. Issaquah Trophy & Awards Is Now Trophies2Go!

    Our Story

In 1987, Bonnie and Mickey Kosko noticed the need for a high-quality engraving and awards provider in their community of Issaquah, outside of Seattle, Washington. They started Issaquah Trophy and Awards out of their garage, and in 1993, their son, Jeff Anderson, purchased the business.

Over time, Jeff grew the business into one of the largest awards providers in the Seattle metro area. His formula for success was providing high quality products at competitive prices with exceptional customer service.

In 2000, Jeff decided to take advantage of technology to expand his services across the US. Trophies2Go.com was born as one of the first internet awards retailers. Trophies2Go allowed customers to place their orders, including engraving information, over the internet and have their awards shipped directly to their doorstep.

    Same Outstanding Quality and Service!

It is time to merge our two brands -local and national - into one. Trophies2Go will remain the local awards company you can trust. We specialize in helping parents and coaches who need trophies to memorialize their child’s sports season or activity.

With our large selection of high quality crystal awards, acrylic awards and plaques, we also serve corporate customers who honor achievements within their organization. Our corporate customers include T-Mobile, Verizon, Microsoft, Paccar, Pokemon, Cintas, and Waste Management, to name a few.

Personalized etching is always included in the price of our awards and quantity discounts are available for larger orders. With quick production times, beautiful craftsmanship, and helpful, friendly customer service just a phone call away, we are the go-to source for awards in Issaquah, Sammamish, Snoqualmie Valley, Newcastle, Renton, Maple Valley and Bellevue, WA.

Even though the name has changed, local customers can continue to place and pick up orders as usual at our Issaquah Showroom or pick up paid orders at our Renton Awards Warehouse.

Our staff is committed to providing you the very best customer experience possible. If you have any questions, just give us a call at 1-877-926-4700 and our friendly customer service team will be glad to assist you.

Thank you for the many years of support and we look forward to serving you in the future!

    Cheers!
